Temple Tumble: the short verdict
Temple Tumble gives every spin a small goal: break the stone blocks that cover the 6x6 grid. Wins tumble away and smash nearby blocks, opening space for more symbols, and clearing every block unlocks free spins with a choice of three bonus worlds. Relax Gaming publishes a 96.25% RTP and calls the game highly volatile, but gives no max-win figure. A good pick for players who like progress on screen and accept long dry spells.

Temple Tumble slots put a puzzle on top of a reel set: Relax Gaming's 2019 release starts every spin with between 3 and 24 stone blocks covering a 6-reel, 6-row grid, and only winning symbols can break them. Clear all of them and you unlock free spins, with a choice of three bonus worlds that add multipliers, extra spins or both.
The game offers up to 46,656 ways to win, and Relax announced it as a Megaways game used under licence from Big Time Gaming. The provider publishes a 96.25% RTP and describes the game as highly volatile, but no maximum win. Below we explain how the blocks, tumbles and bonus worlds work, what the numbers mean in Canadian dollars, and where Temple Tumble sits next to similar games in our catalog.
What makes Temple Tumble slots different
Most slots start each spin with a full screen of symbols. Temple Tumble does not. Part of the grid is hidden under stone blocks, anywhere from 3 to 24 of them, and the number changes from spin to spin. Your wins are what clear the way.
- Stone blocks cover positions at the start of each spin.
- Tumbling wins remove winning symbols and destroy any stone blocks touching them.
- New symbols drop in to fill the gaps, which can create another win and break more blocks.
- Clearing every block awards 6 free spins.
That gives each spin a visible sense of progress. A single win in the right place can set off a chain of tumbles that opens up the grid, while a spin with no early win leaves the blocks standing.
Who it suits
Temple Tumble suits players who enjoy a slot with a goal they can watch, and who have the patience for a high-volatility game where the free spins are earned rather than bought. If you want frequent small wins or a quick route to the bonus, it will feel slow; if you like the moment a chain of tumbles finally clears the last block, few games in our list deliver it as directly.
How a spin works: blocks, tumbles and the wild
A Temple Tumble spin unfolds in stages rather than all at once.
- The grid appears with 3 to 24 stone blocks in place.
- Any winning combinations pay out.
- The winning symbols are destroyed, along with any stone blocks touching them.
- New symbols fall into the empty positions.
- If the new symbols form another win, the cycle repeats. When no new win appears, the spin ends.
The wild appears on reels 2 to 6 and substitutes for all symbols, so it can complete a win anywhere except on the first reel. Because each win can only break the blocks it touches, where a win lands matters as much as its size: a modest win next to a cluster of blocks can do more for the spin than a bigger one far away from them.
Why there is no bonus buy
Temple Tumble has no feature buy in the demo configuration. The free spins have to be earned by clearing the grid naturally, which is part of the game's appeal and part of its volatility.
Up to 46,656 ways and the Megaways connection
The grid is 6 reels by 6 rows. With every position holding a symbol, the number of ways to win is 6 x 6 x 6 x 6 x 6 x 6, which equals 46,656. That is the "up to" figure in the rules: the maximum the grid can produce when it is fully open.
When Relax Gaming launched the game in January 2019, it said Temple Tumble uses the Megaways mechanic under licence from Big Time Gaming, the company that created it. Here the stone blocks are what hold the count down: as tumbling wins break them, more of the grid fills with symbols and the number of ways can climb towards the maximum. Several other games in our catalog use Megaways too, including Buffalo King Megaways with up to 200,704 ways and The Dog House Megaways with up to 117,649.
Free spins and the three bonus worlds
Clearing every stone block from the grid awards 6 free spins. Before they start, you choose one of three bonus worlds, each changing what the special blocks do during the round.
| Bonus world | What the special blocks add |
|---|---|
| Multipliers | +1, +2 or +3 to the win multiplier |
| Extra Spins | +1, +2 or +3 free spins |
| Multipliers & Extra Spins | Both kinds of upgrade |
Special blocks are broken the same way as normal ones - by wins touching them - and then apply their bonus. Clearing all blocks again during free spins adds 3 more spins, so a strong run can keep the round going well past the initial 6.
The choice is about how you like risk to feel. More spins give the multiplier more chances to matter; a multiplier focus can make individual spins bigger. The game's help screen describes each world's exact rules, and the demo is the place to try all three.

RTP, volatility and max win in C$
Relax Gaming publishes a 96.25% RTP for Temple Tumble. Over a very long run, C$1,000 wagered would be expected to return about C$962.50. The provider also lists a 90% build for Germany, which would return about C$900 on the same amount - a clear example of why the RTP in the game's help screen at your casino is the one that counts. Our RTP and volatility guide explains more.
| RTP build | Expected return per C$1,000 | House edge per C$1,000 |
|---|---|---|
| 96.25% (standard) | C$962.50 | C$37.50 |
| 90% (Germany) | C$900 | C$100 |
Relax describes the game as highly volatile. Expect stretches where the blocks barely move, then the occasional spin that clears the grid. No maximum win is stated in the published rules, so we do not quote one. The provider's default stake range runs from EUR 0.20 to EUR 100 a spin; casinos in Canada set their own C$ limits, so check the bet panel where you play.
Temple Tumble free play in the demo
Temple Tumble free play is available through Relax Gaming's demo on this page. It runs on FUN, a play-money currency, so nothing you win can be withdrawn and nothing is deposited. The rules are the same as in the real-money version.
Before you play Temple Tumble for real, the demo is worth using for three things:
- Watching how often the grid gets close to clear - it shows the game's volatility better than any label.
- Trying each of the three bonus worlds when the free spins come round.
- Opening the help screen to read the RTP and rules for the build you are looking at.
Keep the sample size in mind. A short demo session can hit free spins early or not at all, and neither tells you what the next session will do.
Temple Tumble online casinos in Canada
Temple Tumble online casinos are any sites that carry Relax Gaming's catalog, but where you can legally play depends on your province. Ontario runs a regulated market through iGaming Ontario, where private casinos are registered with the AGCO; Alberta added its own regulated market under AGLC on 13 July 2026. Elsewhere, a provincially run site is the government-approved option; casinos licensed abroad also accept players, but no province licenses them. You must be 19 or older, or 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. Our guide to playing in Canada covers the details.
Before you play at Temple Tumble casinos
- Check the RTP in the help screen - the 96.25% build and the 90% build look identical on screen.
- Choose a stake that gives you plenty of spins: a high-volatility game needs time for the free spins to appear.
- Set deposit and time limits. No strategy changes the RTP, and slots are entertainment with a house edge.
Temple Tumble compared with similar games
Breaking blockers to open up the reels is not unique to Temple Tumble, and Relax has its own high-volatility heavyweights. Here is how it lines up with the closest games in our list:
| Game | Provider | Published RTP | What sets it apart |
|---|---|---|---|
| Temple Tumble | Relax Gaming | 96.25% | 3-24 stone blocks, up to 46,656 ways, three bonus worlds |
| Valley of the Gods | Yggdrasil | 96.20% | 12 blockers broken by scarabs, 45 to 3,125 ways, respins |
| Money Train 3 | Relax Gaming | 96.10% | Money Cart bonus, 100,000x win cap |
| Money Train 4 | Relax Gaming | 96.10% | Money Cart bonus with row unlocks, 150,000x win cap |
Valley of the Gods is the nearest match in mechanic: both games hide part of the grid and reward wins by opening it up. The Money Train games share Temple Tumble's studio and high volatility but play very differently, with a collect-style bonus round and a bonus buy. Relax has also released a sequel, Temple Tumble 2 Dream Drop, which is a separate game. Browse everything on the slot games page.

- Up to 46,656 ways when the 6x6 grid is fully open
- Choice of three bonus worlds: multipliers, extra spins or both
- Published 96.25% RTP from Relax Gaming
- Free spins can extend by +3 each time the grid is cleared again
Cons
- Highly volatile by Relax's own description - long spells without the free spins are normal
- No maximum win published in the rules
- A 90% RTP build exists for Germany, so the casino's version matters
- No bonus buy - the free spins must be earned by clearing the grid
How the feature works
Each spin starts with 3 to 24 stone blocks covering the 6x6 grid. Winning symbols are destroyed along with any blocks touching them, and new symbols drop in; the tumbles continue while new wins appear. Clearing every block awards 6 free spins and a choice of three bonus worlds: Multipliers, Extra Spins, or Multipliers & Extra Spins. Special blocks add +1/+2/+3 to the multiplier or +1/+2/+3 spins, and clearing all blocks again during free spins adds 3 more spins.
