Money Train 4: the short verdict
Money Train 4 is the most extreme Money Train title in our catalogue, with a 150,000x cap, high volatility and a bonus full of collectors, payers and persistent symbols that build on each other. The 96.10% RTP is the same as Money Train 3. It rewards players who enjoy reading a bonus grid and can accept long dry spells; casual players and small budgets will find it punishing.

Money Train 4 free slot play is the sensible first step with this game, because its bonus round has more moving parts than almost anything else in our catalogue. Relax Gaming released it in September 2023, billing it as the bandits' last stand, and it keeps the formula that made the series famous: a hold-and-respin bonus in which special symbols collect, pay and multiply each other's values.
This Money Train 4 slot review covers how the base game pays, how the Money Cart Bonus Round works step by step, what every bonus symbol does, the RTP and the 150,000x max win in C$, the two bonus buys, and how it compares with Money Train 3. We end with where you can play it legally in Canada.
Money Train 4 free slot: how to use the demo
The Money Train 4 free demo slot machine on this page is Relax Gaming's own practice version. It opens with an intro video and then plays with FUN credits instead of Canadian dollars, with stakes from 0.10 to 6.00 per spin. The maths are the same as at a casino, so it is a reliable way to learn the bonus before you pay for it.
Three things are worth testing in the demo:
- The wait for the bonus. High volatility means many spins between Money Cart rounds; count how many it takes in your own session.
- How the symbols combine. Watch the order in which collectors, payers and the Sniper act at the end of a spin.
- The buys. Try both buy options a few times each with play money to see how widely the results vary.
Base game: scatter pays on a 6x6 grid
The base game uses six reels and six rows with scatter pays instead of paylines. Matching symbols pay wherever they land: the two highest symbols need eight or more on screen, every other symbol needs ten or more.
The Respin Feature
The base game has one extra trick. The Respin Feature can trigger after any spin: the most common symbol on the grid locks in place and the other positions spin again, with multiplier symbols able to land and boost the result. It gives the base game a second way to produce a solid win.
Most of the game's value still sits in the bonus, which needs three or more Bonus symbols to trigger.
The Money Cart Bonus Round step by step
- Trigger. Three or more Bonus symbols start the round, which plays on a 6x4 bonus grid.
- Spins. You get three spins. Every time a new symbol lands, the count resets to three.
- Locked rows. The bonus grid also has four locked rows. An Unlocker symbol, or filling a whole row, opens one of them, so the grid can grow to eight rows.
- Feature symbols act. Collectors, payers, the Sniper and others fire after spins and move values around the grid.
- Persistent symbols. Gold versions of feature symbols act after every bonus spin, not just once.
- End. When the spins run out, the values on the grid are added up and paid.
If the running total reaches 150,000x the bet, the bonus stops at once and pays the cap.
Why persistent symbols decide the round
An ordinary Collector acts once. A persistent Collector gathers every value on the grid after every spin, while payers keep adding to those values. A round with persistent symbols in play can grow on every respin; without them, each feature symbol acts only once and the total depends mostly on the plain Bonus values.
What each bonus symbol does
Money Train 4 uses thirteen bonus-round symbols. They fall into four groups:
- Value symbols: the plain Bonus symbol reveals 1x to 10x the bet.
- Collectors: the Collector takes all values on the grid, the Adjacent Collector takes the eight around it, and the Collector-Payer gathers 3 to 5 values and pays the total back to them.
- Payers and boosters: the Payer adds its value to every symbol, the Adjacent Payer only to neighbours, and the Sniper doubles 3 to 8 other symbols.
- Utility symbols: the Arms Dealer turns 1 to 4 Bonus symbols into feature symbols, the Necromancer revives used non-persistent feature symbols, the Persistent Shapeshifter changes into a different feature after each spin, the Upgrader makes 1 to 3 feature symbols persistent, Reset Plus raises the starting spin count by one (once per bonus), and the Unlocker opens a row.
The best rounds come from combinations: a Payer that raises every value, followed by a Sniper doubling several of them, followed by a Collector gathering the lot. The Upgrader and the Necromancer can turn a decent round into a strong one, because they make the best actions repeat.
A worked example in C$
An illustration of the arithmetic, not a real round: at a C$1 stake, four Bonus symbols show C$2, C$3, C$5 and C$10. A Payer revealing C$2 lifts them to C$4, C$5, C$7 and C$12. A Sniper then doubles three of them, turning C$5, C$7 and C$12 into C$10, C$14 and C$24. Finally a Collector gathers C$4 + C$10 + C$14 + C$24 = C$52 into itself. The order in which the symbols fire changes the total, which is why the same symbols can produce very different rounds.

Money Train 4 RTP and max win in C$
The provider's game configuration gives a Money Train 4 RTP of 96.10%, the same as Money Train 3. Over a very long run, that means C$96.10 returned for every C$100 wagered and C$3.90 kept as the house edge. Relax also lists a separate UK game ID for a different build, and casinos may run a lower-RTP version, so check the game rules where you play.
The Money Train 4 max win is 150,000x the bet, the highest of any slot in our catalogue. At common stakes:
| Stake per spin | Max win (150,000x) |
|---|---|
| C$0.10 | C$15,000 |
| C$0.50 | C$75,000 |
| C$1.00 | C$150,000 |
| C$2.00 | C$300,000 |
A cap this high is a sign of extreme spread. The overwhelming majority of bonus rounds pay a small fraction of it, and many pay less than a buy would cost. Our RTP and volatility guide explains why a huge cap usually means a rougher ride.
Bonus buy: Original or Persistent Feature
In the base game you can buy straight into the bonus. Two options are available:
| Buy option | Price | Cost at C$0.50 | Cost at C$1 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Original Feature | 100x the bet | C$50 | C$100 |
| Persistent Feature | 500x the bet | C$250 | C$500 |
The provider's configuration puts the buy RTP at 96.5%, slightly above the 96.10% of normal play, but the price is paid in one go and the outcome varies hugely. The Persistent Feature costs five times the Original; the in-game rules describe exactly what the higher price adds. If you buy, fix the number of buys before you start and do not add more after a poor round.
Money Train 4 vs Money Train 3
Both games are in our catalogue, and they share the RTP and the high-volatility label. The differences are in the grid, the bonus and the ceiling:
| Spec | Money Train 3 | Money Train 4 |
|---|---|---|
| Released | September 2022 | September 2023 |
| Base game | 5x4, 40 fixed paylines | 6x6, scatter pays |
| Bonus grid growth | Up to 2 extra columns | Up to 4 extra rows |
| Max win | 100,000x | 150,000x |
| Buy options | 20x, 50x, 100x, 500x | 100x, 500x |
Money Train 3 offers cheaper entry points into the bonus, including one- and two-spin buys. Money Train 4 drops those, raises the cap by half again and fills its bonus with new symbols such as the Arms Dealer and the Upgrader. Relax's series also includes Money Train 2 and Money Train 5, and the spin-off Money Cart 2, none of which is in our catalogue yet. For a different side of Relax Gaming's design, try Temple Tumble, a tumbling-blocks game in our catalogue.
Play Money Train 4 in Canada: legal options and bankroll
To play Money Train 4 for real money, use a casino that is legal in your province. In Ontario, that means an AGCO-registered site operating through iGaming Ontario; in Alberta, an operator registered with AGLC (since 13 July 2026); in the rest of the country, the regulated option is your province's own gaming site, and offshore operators work outside Canadian oversight. The age limit is 19, or 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. Our Canadian playing guide has the full province list.
Managing a high-volatility budget
- Choose a stake that gives you at least 300 spins; at C$0.20 that is a C$60 budget.
- Do not raise the stake to chase a bonus; the game has no memory of past spins.
- Set loss and time limits with your casino before you begin.
Money Train 4 on a phone
The game runs in a mobile browser or casino app with the same rules. The bonus grid holds a lot of small numbers, so try the demo on your own phone first and check that you can follow the values before playing for money.
Money Train 4 is built for patient players who enjoy the bonus as a puzzle and accept that most sessions end below where they started. It is entertainment with a house edge, not an income.

What works and what does not

- Respin Feature gives the base game a second route to a win
- Buy RTP of 96.5% in the provider configuration
Cons
- High volatility: long dry spells between bonuses are normal
- Persistent Feature buy costs 500x the bet
- Complex bonus that takes time to learn
- Demo uses FUN credits rather than C$
How the feature works
Three or more Bonus symbols trigger the Money Cart Bonus Round on a 6x4 grid with three spins; each new symbol resets the count to three. An Unlocker or a full row opens one of four locked rows. Feature symbols such as Collectors, Payers, the Sniper and the Arms Dealer move and multiply values, and gold persistent versions act after every spin. The round pays all values at the end, or stops early at the 150,000x cap.
