Our checks, step by step

Every game page on this site is built from sources you can check yourself: the provider's own game page, the rules and paytable inside the game, and the provider's free demo, which we embed on the page so you can see the same thing we saw. This page explains exactly how we gather those facts, how we turn them into a review, and where our judgement comes in.
It also sets out what we do not do. This is a demo-based catalogue: we read, play and check the free versions of each game. We do not publish logged real-money sessions, win screenshots or player counts, and we do not claim experience we have not had.
How we choose the games
The 50 games in our slot games catalogue were chosen by Canadian search demand: we measured how often people in Canada search for each title and kept those with the most interest. That is why the list mixes old favourites, recent releases and crash and instant games. Games are not included, excluded or ranked because a casino or provider pays for it.
Where our numbers come from
For every game we collect the same set of facts, from the most direct source available:
- The provider's game page for the published RTP, maximum win, release date and feature descriptions.
- The in-game rules and paytable, opened inside the demo, for RTP variants, bet limits, the volatility label, symbol pays and the exact wording of each feature.
- The demo's own information, such as the bet range and currency it loads with.
Symbol pays are read from the demo's paytable and converted to multiples of the total bet, so they hold at any stake. When the provider page and the in-game rules disagree, we use the in-game figure and note the difference on the page. When a figure is not published, we show a dash; we never fill a gap with a number from another review site or from memory.
Playing the demos
We load each provider demo, play it, and check that what the rules describe is what the game does: how a spin or round runs, how the bonus is triggered, which bet options appear. That is the experience the review describes. It is also the limit of what we claim. A demo session is far too short to measure a game's RTP or volatility, so for those we rely on the provider's published figures and labels, and say so.
Some demos behave differently depending on where they load. A few Games Global titles could not be confirmed to load from the location where we checked them, and some providers hide bonus buys in certain regions. Where a demo may not appear for you, the page still shows the facts we could confirm and offers a fallback.
Dates, fact-checking and corrections
- Every spec table carries a checked date and a link to the provider source, so you can see how current the figures are.
- A second person checks every number. Our fact-checker, Nadia Roy, compares each figure on a page with its source before publication.
- We re-check when a provider updates a game or a reader reports a difference, and we update the date when we do.
- Corrections are welcome. If you find a figure that does not match the game, write to us through get in touch with the game name and what you saw.

How scores and verdicts work
Each game page ends its hero with a score out of 10 and a short verdict. These are editorial judgements, not measurements. They weigh the published RTP, how clearly the provider states the volatility and rules, whether the feature delivers on what the game promises in the demo, the price of options such as bonus buys, and how the game compares with its siblings on this site. A score tells you what we think of the game as entertainment for the money; it does not predict results, and no score makes a slot a good way to make money.
What we never do
- Claim real-money sessions, spin counts or wins we did not have.
- Publish player numbers, testimonials or "recent winner" feeds.
- Borrow another site's RTP, volatility rating or max win.
- Promise that a game, strategy or bonus will make you money.
- Use countdown timers or pressure to push you towards a deposit.
How we earn money
This site earns a commission when a visitor signs up at our partner casino through a link on the site. That is how we pay for the research and writing. The commission does not change the facts on any page, and the same partner appears on every page, so no game is promoted because it pays more. The full details are in our affiliate disclosure.
