Sweet Rush Bonanza: the short verdict
Sweet Rush Bonanza is a clever cross of two Pragmatic Play series: the familiar 6x5 scatter-pays grid gains marked spots that double up to 128x and stay put through free spins. Medium volatility and the same 96.50% RTP in every mode make it easier to live with than Sugar Rush. The catch is a 5,000x ceiling, far below its parents' bigger versions, and Super Spins that get expensive fast. Use the demo to find a mode you can afford.

The Sweet Rush Bonanza demo lets you test a slot that Pragmatic Play built from two of its own series. The grid, the fruit and candy symbols and the lollipop scatter come from Sweet Bonanza; the multiplier spots that mark the grid and double with every repeat win come from Sugar Rush. Released in September 2025, it pays for 8+ matching symbols anywhere on a 6x5 grid.
Below we explain how the spots build, what the free spins keep, how the Ante Bet and two Super Spin modes change your cost per spin, and what the 5,000x maximum win is worth at real Canadian stakes. Every figure comes from the game's own rules. It is entertainment with a house edge, so treat the numbers as a guide to the ride, not a way to beat it.
Playing the Sweet Rush Bonanza demo: what to test first
The demo on this page is Pragmatic Play's own build, set to Canadian dollars with a play-money balance. The maths is the same as the real-money game, so it is the best place to answer questions that the rules screen cannot: how often the grid fills with marked spots, how long free spins take to arrive at your stake, and whether the Super Spin modes suit your budget.
- Watch the spots in the base game. Note how many marked spots a typical tumble sequence leaves behind and how often one climbs past 8x.
- Count spins between free spins rounds. A few hundred demo spins at a fixed stake give you a feel for the gaps, even though no short session shows the true average.
- Try each mode once. Run a short block of Ante Bet, then Super Spin 1, and compare the balance swings with the plain base game.
Some regional builds of Pragmatic Play games hide the bonus buy, so the options you see in a demo may differ from the lobby at your casino.
Sweet Bonanza meets Sugar Rush: what the hybrid keeps
The Sweet Rush Bonanza game is easiest to understand as a list of parts borrowed from its two parents, plus one thing it drops.
| Part | Comes from | How it works here |
|---|---|---|
| 6x5 grid, 8+ symbols anywhere | Sweet Bonanza | Same scatter-pays rule, no paylines |
| Lollipop scatter | Sweet Bonanza | 4+ trigger free spins and pay up to 100x |
| Marked multiplier spots | Sugar Rush | Double from 2x up to 128x |
| Tumbles | Both | Winning symbols vanish and new ones fall in |
| Multiplier bombs | Sweet Bonanza (dropped) | Replaced by the spot system |
That last row is the real change. In Sweet Bonanza, multipliers only exist as bombs during free spins. Here the multiplier lives on the grid itself, so it can appear in the base game and grow during a single tumble sequence.
How a spin pays: scatter pays and tumbles
Each Sweet Rush Bonanza slot spin fills six reels of five symbols. Any symbol that appears 8 or more times anywhere on the grid pays, and the pay steps up at 10 and again at 12 matching symbols. The red heart candy is the top symbol, paying 5x your stake for 8-9, 10x for 10-11 and 50x for 12 or more. The banana sits at the bottom with 0.25x, 0.5x and 2x for the same groups.
After a win, the paying symbols explode, the rest drop down and new symbols fall in from above. If the new grid forms another win, it pays and tumbles again. A single spin can therefore produce a chain of small wins, and every explosion along the chain leaves a mark on the grid that matters for the next step.
Why the 8-symbol rule matters
Because wins need 8 matching symbols rather than a line, many spins pay nothing, and the low symbols do most of the work when something lands. The big base-game results come from long tumble chains running over marked spots, not from one lucky spin of heart candies.
The scatter as a paying symbol
The lollipop is easy to think of only as the free spins key, but it pays on its own too. On a C$1 stake, 4 scatters return C$2, 5 return C$5 and 6 or more return C$100 - the same amount as buying the bonus outright. That is a rare result, but it shows why a natural trigger with 6 lollipops is worth far more than one with 4, even before the first free spin is played.
Multiplier spots: from 2x to 128x
This is the Sugar Rush half of the game. When a winning symbol explodes, the position it occupied is marked. The next time a winning symbol explodes on that marked spot, it gets a 2x multiplier, and every further hit there doubles it.
- First explosion on a position: the spot is marked, no multiplier yet.
- Second explosion there: 2x.
- Then 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x and 64x.
- Then 128x, the ceiling for a single spot.
When a win covers several multiplied spots, their values are added together, not multiplied. A cluster sitting on spots at 2x, 4x and 8x therefore uses 14x. Adding keeps results in check compared with multiplying.
Sweet Rush Bonanza bonus: the free spins round
Four or more lollipop scatters anywhere on the grid award 10 free spins. The scatters also pay on the trigger: 2x your stake for 4, 5x for 5 and 100x for 6 or more. Landing 4 or more scatters again during the round adds another 10 spins.
The Sweet Rush Bonanza bonus is where the spots earn their keep. In the base game a marked spot only helps for the spin it was built in; during free spins, every marked spot and its multiplier stays on the grid for the whole round. A spot that reaches 16x on the third free spin is still there, and can still double, on the tenth. Rounds that build several high spots early are the ones that produce big results; rounds where the grid stays bare can end with little.
Super free spins
Only available through the bonus buy, super free spins start with every spot already at 2x. That removes the slow first stage of marking positions, and the round costs five times the standard buy.

Ante Bet, Super Spins and bonus buys in C$
Pragmatic Play gives the game three ways to raise your cost per spin, plus two buy options. The provider lists the same 96.50% RTP for all of them, so none is better value on paper; they change how your money is spent, not how much of it comes back on average.
| Mode | Cost | On a C$1 base bet | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base game | 1x | C$1 | Standard spin |
| Ante Bet | 3x | C$3 | Free spins need only 3 scatters |
| Super Spin 1 | 20x | C$20 | Random starting multipliers, at least 2x; no free spins |
| Super Spin 2 | 250x | C$250 | Every spot starts at 32x; no free spins |
| Buy free spins | 100x | C$100 | 10 free spins |
| Buy super free spins | 500x | C$500 | Free spins with every spot at 2x |
Super Spin 2 deserves care. At the C$0.20 minimum it costs C$50 a spin. The demo shows a C$5,000 maximum stake, so the largest base bet it allows in Super Spin 2 is C$20 (C$5,000 divided by 250). Real-money casinos set their own limits, and some regions remove the buys altogether.
RTP, volatility and max win, worked through in C$
Pragmatic Play publishes a 96.50% RTP for the game in every mode, and rates the volatility as Medium. Casinos can run lower RTP versions of many Pragmatic Play slots, so open the game rules at your casino and check the figure there.
Read as money, 96.50% means that across a very large number of spins about C$96.50 of every C$100 staked comes back, and C$3.50 stays with the house. Medium volatility sits between the frequent small wins of a low-volatility game and the long droughts of a high one.
- C$0.20 spin, 5,000x maximum: C$1,000
- C$1 spin: C$5,000
- C$5 spin: C$25,000
- C$240 base-bet maximum: C$1,200,000
The 5,000x cap is the number to weigh against the excitement of the spot system. Sweet Bonanza lists 21,100x and Sugar Rush 1000 lists 25,000x, so this game trades top-end potential for a calmer, medium-volatility ride. See our RTP and volatility guide for how these figures compare across the catalog.
Sweet Rush Bonanza free slot vs real money play
As a free slot, Sweet Rush Bonanza is the full game with play money: same grid, same spots, same free spins and the same mode menu where the region allows it. Nothing you win in the demo can be withdrawn, and nothing you lose costs anything, which is exactly why it is useful for learning the modes.
Real money adds three things the demo cannot simulate: a casino's own RTP setting, its own bet limits and the pressure of a real balance. A sensible way to move across is to play the demo at the stake you intend to use, note how far the balance swings over a few hundred spins, and size your real budget so that a swing like that would not hurt. Sweet Rush Bonanza play on a phone browser works the same as on desktop, so you can test on the device you will use.
Sweet Rush Bonanza online in Canada: casino, app and age rules
To play Sweet Rush Bonanza online for real money you need a casino that carries Pragmatic Play and is licensed where you live. In Ontario that means an AGCO-registered site in the iGaming Ontario market; check iGaming Ontario's list of regulated sites and the game in the lobby. In Alberta, use an operator registered with AGLC, required since 13 July 2026. Elsewhere in Canada, a provincially run site is the authorised route, and offshore-licensed sites operate outside that system.
When you compare a Sweet Rush Bonanza casino, look past the welcome offer:
- Does the game's rules screen show 96.50% or a lower version?
- Are the bonus buy and Super Spins available in your region?
- Can you set deposit limits and time-outs from your account?
You do not need a separate Sweet Rush Bonanza app: the game runs in the browser and inside licensed casinos' own apps. You must be 19 or older, or 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. More on the provincial picture is in playing in Canada.
Who it suits, and how it sits in the candy family
The Sweet Rush Bonanza Pragmatic Play release is aimed at players who like the Sweet Bonanza look but find its bombs too random, and Sugar Rush fans who want a less brutal ride. It suits you if you enjoy watching something build across a bonus round and can accept a 5,000x ceiling. It is a poor fit if you are chasing the largest possible multiplier; the higher-cap versions of both parents aim much higher.
For stake sizing, the medium rating helps: a base bet around 1% or less of your session budget leaves room for the dry patches between free spins rounds. Treat Super Spins as a separate, much higher-cost game and budget for them as such.
Family comparisons: Sugar Rush uses the same spots on a 7x7 cluster grid at high volatility, Sugar Rush 1000 lifts the spot ceiling to 1,024x, and Sweet Bonanza 1000 keeps the bomb system with bombs up to 1,000x.

What works and what does not
Pros
- Spot multipliers can build in the base game, not only in free spins
- Marked spots stay for the whole free spins round, so bonuses can snowball
- Same 96.50% RTP published for every mode and buy option
- Medium volatility: a steadier ride than High-rated Sugar Rush and Sugar Rush 1000
- Free demo in Canadian dollars with the full mode menu where the region allows it
Cons
- 5,000x maximum win is low next to Sweet Bonanza's 21,100x and the 1000 versions
- Super Spin 2 costs 250x the base bet, C$50 a spin even at the minimum
- Spot multipliers are added, not multiplied, which limits the biggest results
- Bonus buys and Super Spins may be missing in some regions
How the feature works
Four or more lollipop scatters award 10 free spins, and 4 or more during the round add 10 more. Throughout the game, each position where a winning symbol explodes is marked; the next explosion there adds a 2x multiplier that doubles with each repeat hit, up to 128x, and multipliers under one win are added together. In free spins every marked spot and its value stays for the whole round. The 500x buy starts every spot at 2x.
