Reactoonz: the short verdict
Reactoonz has aged well because its bonus lives in the base game: every win charges a meter that unlocks Quantum features and, at the top, the Gargantoon wild. The provider's game help lists a 96.51% RTP, and with no bonus buy the game plays the way it was designed. The drawbacks are the lack of a published volatility rating or maximum win, and long quiet stretches between big chains. Learn it in the demo first.

This Reactoonz slot review explains how Play'n GO's alien grid works, what each Quantum feature does, and what the published numbers mean for a Canadian player. The game was released in October 2017 and still draws steady search interest, mostly from people who want to understand its chain reactions before they stake real money.
Reactoonz drops 49 symbols onto a 7x7 grid and pays for clusters of five or more matching aliens. There are no paylines and no free spins. Instead, winning symbols charge a meter that releases random features and, if you fill it, a giant wild. The demo on this page lets you watch all of it with play money, and the sections below cover the rules, the paytable in C$, the RTP and the best way to play it in Canada.
Reactoonz slot review: the key facts first
Before the details, here is everything Play'n GO puts in writing about the game, and what it leaves out.
- Provider: Play'n GO, released October 2017.
- RTP: 96.51%, from the provider's own game-help page.
- Grid: 7x7, with cascades after every win.
- Wins: clusters of 5 or more matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically.
- Stake range in the demo: 0.20 to 100 per spin (20 coins at a coin value of 0.01 to 5.00).
- Bonus buy: none.
- Not published: a volatility rating and a maximum win.
Those two gaps matter. Most modern slots list both, and players use them to judge risk. For Reactoonz you have to read risk from the paytable instead, which we do further down. The demo also uses a neutral DEMO currency rather than Canadian dollars; a Canadian casino shows its own C$ limits.
How a spin plays out on the 7x7 grid
Each spin fills the grid with 49 symbols: four one-eyed aliens in purple, red, green and yellow, and four higher-paying aliens in pink, green, orange and blue. The game then looks for clusters.
Reactoonz slot game basics: clusters of 5 or more
A cluster is a group of at least five identical symbols connected horizontally or vertically. Diagonal contact does not count. Bigger clusters pay more, and the paytable steps up at 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10+, 12+ and 15+ symbols. A cluster of 15 or more is where the top prices sit.
Cascades keep the spin alive
After a win, the winning symbols disappear and new ones drop in from above. If the new symbols form another cluster, the process repeats, and it continues until no win is left on the grid. One paid spin can therefore produce a whole chain of wins. Every symbol removed during that chain also feeds the meter on the left of the grid, which is the real engine of the game.
This structure explains the rhythm many players notice in the demo: plenty of spins end with nothing or a single small cluster, and then one spin keeps cascading for several seconds while the meter climbs.
The Quantum Leap meter and its four features
Wins charge the Quantum Leap meter. Each charge takes 25 winning symbols and queues one random Quantum feature, and up to four can be queued in a single chain. The four possible features are:
- Implosion - adds 3 to 6 wilds to the grid and destroys the symbols next to them.
- Alteration - picks one type of one-eyed alien and turns every copy into another type, which can merge two weak groups into one larger cluster.
- Demolition - destroys the one-eyed symbols, clearing room for new drops.
- Incision - places a wild in the centre and draws two diagonal lines of one symbol through it.
Each feature changes the grid, so it can start a new round of cascades, which can charge the meter again. That loop is the heart of Reactoonz: a good chain feeds itself.
Which feature helps most?
The game does not let you choose, so the order is luck. Implosion and Incision both add wilds, which makes them the most direct route to a new cluster. Alteration depends on what is already on the grid, and Demolition mostly resets the board. None of them pays on its own; each one only creates the chance of new clusters.
Gargantoon: the Reactoonz bonus feature in full
Reactoonz has no free spins round. Its bonus is the fifth charge of the meter, which releases Gargantoon: a 3x3 wild dropped onto the grid. It then splits into 2x2 wilds and finally into nine 1x1 wilds, so a single Gargantoon can keep feeding new clusters as the grid changes. This is the sequence behind the largest results the game can produce.
Instability
Gargantoon can also appear without a full meter. On a spin whose first drop produces no win, Gargantoon may drop 4 to 8 wilds onto the grid. It is a small consolation feature that turns some blank spins into a cluster.
Giantoonz and Fluctuation
- Giantoonz: when four identical symbols land as a 2x2 block, they form a Giantoon, and a cluster that includes it pays double.
- Fluctuation: one type of one-eyed alien is marked as fluctuating. When it wins, it leaves two wilds behind, which can start a fresh cascade.
Because all of this happens in the normal paid spin, every spin carries some chance of the full bonus sequence. That is also why there is no bonus buy: there is no separate round to buy into.
Reading the paytable: what each alien pays in C$
Play'n GO's in-game paytable shows the pays as multiples of the total bet. Multiply by your stake to get the C$ amount. Here are selected clusters at a C$1 spin:
| Symbol | 5 symbols | 10+ symbols | 15+ symbols |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pink four-eyed alien | C$1.00 | C$20.00 | C$750.00 |
| Green alien | C$0.80 | C$10.00 | C$300.00 |
| Orange alien | C$0.60 | C$5.00 | C$150.00 |
| Blue alien | C$0.50 | C$3.00 | C$75.00 |
| Purple or red one-eye | C$0.15 | C$1.00 | C$10.00 |
| Green or yellow one-eye | C$0.10 | C$0.80 | C$3.00 |
Two things stand out. First, a five-symbol cluster of the four one-eyed types pays less than the stake, so many small wins are partial refunds. Second, the jump from 10+ to 15+ is enormous for the big aliens: the pink alien goes from 20x to 750x. The game's value is concentrated in large clusters, which the wilds from Quantum features and Gargantoon make possible.
Is there a Reactoonz max win?
Play'n GO does not state a maximum win on its game page, in the game help or in the paytable, so we do not quote one. What the paytable does show is the single largest symbol price: 750x the bet for a 15+ cluster of pink aliens, which is C$750 on a C$1 spin or C$150 on a C$0.20 spin. Chains of several wins in one spin can add up to more than that.

RTP 96.51% and what replaces a volatility rating
The provider's game help lists an RTP of 96.51%. Over a very long run, that means C$96.51 returned for every C$100 wagered on average, with C$3.49 kept as the house edge. It is an average across millions of spins, not a target for any one session. Play'n GO does not publish lower-RTP versions publicly, but casinos can be offered other builds, so check the figure in the game help where you play.
Without a volatility label, the paytable is the best guide. It shows a very wide spread: the cheapest clusters pay a fraction of the stake, while the best pay hundreds of times it, and the biggest results depend on a meter that needs many winning symbols in one chain. In practice, expect plenty of small returns, frequent blank spins, and the occasional long chain that carries a session. Our RTP and volatility guide explains why that spread matters more than the RTP for how a session feels.
Stake and the cost of a session
| Stake per spin | Wagered over 250 spins | Long-run cost at 96.51% |
|---|---|---|
| C$0.20 | C$50 | C$1.75 |
| C$1.00 | C$250 | C$8.73 |
| C$2.00 | C$500 | C$17.45 |
| C$5.00 | C$1,250 | C$43.63 |
Treat the right-hand column as the average price of the entertainment. Any single session will land well above or below it.
Reactoonz play free: demo vs real money
The free version on this page is the provider's own practice mode. The demo uses a DEMO balance, not Canadian dollars, and the stake runs from 0.20 to 100 per spin, the same coin structure the real game uses. The maths are identical, so the demo is the honest way to judge whether the cascades and the meter suit you.
Demo play Reactoonz the smart way
- Play at least a few hundred spins. The Gargantoon sequence needs a long chain, and you need volume to see it.
- Watch the meter rather than the balance. It shows you how often chains build and how rarely they reach the top.
- Note how often a spin returns less than the stake. That figure tells you more about the game's feel than any single big win.
When you move to a casino, the only differences are the currency, your real balance and possibly the RTP build. Everything else in the Reactoonz free game carries straight over.
Play Reactoonz online in Canada
Where you can legally play depends on your province. In Ontario, privately run casinos registered with the AGCO and operating through iGaming Ontario can offer Play'n GO games to residents, and in Alberta, operators registered with AGLC can do so since 13 July 2026. Elsewhere, the regulated option is your province's own online casino; offshore sites also take Canadian players without Canadian oversight. Casino play is open from age 19 in most provinces, and from 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. Our Canadian playing guide breaks this down province by province.
Reactoonz casinos usually list the game under Play'n GO in their lobby. Before you deposit, check three things:
- the site's licence or registration for your province,
- the RTP shown in the game's own help screen,
- the payment methods and withdrawal times for Canadians.
Reactoonz mobile play
Reactoonz mobile play uses the same 7x7 grid and the same rules, scaled down to the screen. Forty-nine symbols on a small display can feel busy, so open the demo on your own phone first and check that you can follow the clusters and the meter comfortably before you stake money.
Reactoonz vs other grid and Play'n GO games
Reactoonz shares its 7x7 cluster grid with Sugar Rush, and its provider with Book of Dead and Legacy of Dead. On published figures they compare like this:
| Game | Grid / lines | Provider RTP | Max win | Bonus buy |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Reactoonz | 7x7, clusters of 5+ | 96.51% | Not published | No |
| Sugar Rush | 7x7, clusters of 5+ | 96.50% | 5,000x stake | Yes, 100x |
| Book of Dead | 5x3, 10 paylines | 96.21% | 5,000x stake | No |
| Legacy of Dead | 5x3, 10 paylines | 96.58% | 5,000x stake | No |
Sugar Rush is the closest relative in structure, but its bonus is a free spins round you can also buy, while Reactoonz keeps everything in the paid spin. The two Play'n GO book games are a different style entirely, with classic paylines on a 5x3 grid. If you like cluster grids with cascades, Pirots 2 and Le Bandit are also worth a look in our slot catalogue.
The Reactoonz name has also grown into a family, including Reactoonz 2, Reactoonz 100 and Reactoonz Blitzways, alongside related titles such as Gigantoonz, Gargantoonz, Energoonz and Dr. Toonz. None of those is in our catalogue yet.
Bankroll tips and who Reactoonz suits
No betting pattern lifts the 96.51% RTP. Each spin is independent, so raising the stake after a run of blanks does not make Gargantoon any more likely. What you can manage is how long your money lasts.
- Size the stake so your budget covers 250 spins or more; the game needs volume to deliver its chains.
- Set a loss limit and a time limit before you start, and use the tools your casino offers.
- Ignore streaks. Each spin starts from a fresh grid.
Reactoonz suits players who enjoy watching a single spin unfold and who are comfortable with many small or empty results between big moments. It is a poor fit for anyone who wants a clear top prize stated up front or the option to buy a bonus. Like every slot, it carries a house edge: treat it as entertainment you pay for, and stop when it stops being fun.

What works and what does not
Pros
- Provider game help lists a 96.51% RTP
- Every paid spin can build into the full Quantum and Gargantoon sequence
- Cascades mean one spin can pay several times
- Gargantoon wild splits into up to nine wilds across a chain
- Clear paytable: a 15+ pink alien cluster pays 750x the bet
Cons
- No volatility rating or maximum win published by Play'n GO
- Small clusters of one-eyed aliens often pay less than the stake
- No free spins round and no bonus buy
- Demo runs in DEMO currency, not C$
How the feature works
Reactoonz has no free spins. Wins cascade on a 7x7 grid and every 25 winning symbols charge the Quantum Leap meter, queuing up to four random Quantum features: Implosion, Alteration, Demolition or Incision. The fifth charge releases Gargantoon, a 3x3 wild that splits into 2x2 wilds and then nine 1x1 wilds. Instability can drop 4-8 wilds on a non-winning spin, Giantoonz double cluster wins, and Fluctuation leaves 2 wilds after a marked symbol wins.
