Le Pharaoh: the short verdict
Le Pharaoh shares the Golden Squares and Rainbow system of Le Bandit, puts it on a 6x5 payline grid in Egypt, and lets you choose your bonus. With a 15,000x cap, a 3 out of 5 volatility rating and a 96.21% RTP, it sits in the middle of Hacksaw's range. The choice between bonuses barely changes the maths, so pick the one you enjoy. Its main weakness is complexity: there is a lot to learn before it clicks.

The Le Pharaoh demo on this page runs Hacksaw Gaming's Egyptian slot with a play-money balance shown in dollars, so you can learn its many features without risking anything. It is part of Hacksaw's "Le" series and shares the Golden Squares idea with Le Bandit, then adds sticky re-drops, a choice of two bonus games and a hidden Epic bonus.
Below we explain how a spin works on the 6x5 grid, what the Rainbow does, which bonus choice has the better RTP, what the feature buys cost in C$, and what the 15,000x max win means at real stakes. We also cover where Le Pharaoh is legal to play in Canada.
Le Pharaoh demo: what to try in the free version
Hacksaw's demo uses the same rules as the real game, so it is the cheapest way to see every part of the slot. In the Le Pharaoh slot demo you can:
- watch how sticky re-drops build Golden Squares across the grid,
- try both bonus choices back to back and see which one you prefer,
- test the BonusHunt and Rainbow FeatureSpins modes and how quickly they drain a balance,
- check the bet menu, which runs from $0.10 to $2,000 per spin.
The demo balance is play money. It shows how the game behaves, not what a casino session will return, and a few bonus rounds are far too small a sample to judge the payout.
Le Pharaoh slot basics: 6 reels, 19 paylines and sticky re-drops
Le Pharaoh uses six reels and five rows with 19 paylines. Wins need three to six matching symbols on a line, and a full line of six wilds pays 3x the bet. The top regular symbol, the scarab, pays 1x to 3x for three to six of a kind, so the base game's line pays are modest.
Sticky Re-drops
The real engine is the re-drop. When you land a win, the winning symbols stick in place and the rest of the grid drops again. Each position that was part of a win becomes a Golden Square. Re-drops continue as long as the win is extended or a new one forms, so one spin can mark a large part of the grid gold.
Golden Squares wait for a Rainbow, and that is where the bigger base-game results come from.
Golden Riches: what the Rainbow reveals
When a Rainbow lands, every Golden Square on the grid is activated and turns into a prize:
| Reveal | Value | At a C$1 bet |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze coin | 0.2x to 4x | C$0.20 to C$4 |
| Silver coin | 5x to 20x | C$5 to C$20 |
| Gold coin | 25x to 500x | C$25 to C$500 |
| Green or Golden Clover | x2 to x20 multiplier | Multiplies coin values |
| Pot of Gold | Collects values | Depends on what it collects |
The size of a Rainbow payout depends on two things: how many Golden Squares were built before it arrived, and whether clovers or pots appear among them. A Rainbow on a nearly empty grid pays little, while one on a grid full of gold with a high clover can produce a large result. That interaction is the core of Le Pharaoh.
Bonus Choice: Luck of the Pharaoh or Lost Treasures?
Three FS scatters let you choose your bonus:
- Luck of the Pharaoh: 10 free spins.
- Lost Treasures: a round played on three lives that refill.
Four FS scatters give the Super versions: Super Luck of the Pharaoh with 12 spins, or Super Lost Treasures, which always includes an Adding Stone Tablet.
Which bonus is better?
It is one of the most searched questions about the game, and the in-game rules settle the maths. If you always pick Lost Treasures, the RTP is 96.21%; if you always pick Luck of the Pharaoh, it is 96.18%. The gap is 0.03 percentage points, which works out to about C$3 per C$10,000 wagered over the long run. In practice the choice is about feel, not return:
- Choose Luck of the Pharaoh if you prefer a fixed number of spins and a clear end point.
- Choose Lost Treasures if you like rounds that can keep going while you keep hitting.
Rainbow Over the Pyramids: the hidden Epic bonus
Five FS scatters unlock the top feature, Rainbow Over the Pyramids. It is a hidden Epic bonus that does not appear among the normal choices: 12 free spins with a Rainbow on every single spin. Because a Rainbow lands on every spin, every Golden Square built during the round gets activated, which is why this is the feature everyone hopes to see.
Hacksaw does not publish how often five scatters land, so treat it as a rare event rather than something to plan a session around.
How the three bonus tiers compare
- Three scatters: the standard choice between 10 free spins and a three-life round.
- Four scatters: the same choice in Super form, with 12 spins or an Adding Stone Tablet included.
- Five scatters: no choice at all, straight into Rainbow Over the Pyramids.
Each extra scatter moves you up a tier, so it pays to know what each tier contains before you make your pick.

Feature buys and FeatureSpins in C$
Where buys are allowed, Le Pharaoh offers two direct buys and two FeatureSpins modes:
| Option | Price | At a C$0.50 bet | At a C$1 bet |
|---|---|---|---|
| You Must Choose... (bonus buy) | 100x | C$50 | C$100 |
| ...But Choose Wisely (bonus buy) | 250x | C$125 | C$250 |
| BonusHunt FeatureSpins | 3x per spin | C$1.50 per spin | C$3 per spin |
| Rainbow FeatureSpins | 60x per spin | C$30 per spin | C$60 per spin |
The in-game rules list buy RTPs between 96.26% and 96.35%, slightly above normal play. That small edge does not make buying cheaper in practice: a C$250 buy is a single high-variance event, and FeatureSpins at 60x per spin can empty a balance very quickly. Fix the number of buys before you start. Note that feature buys can take the cost of a round above the $2,000 maximum spin.
RTP 96.21%, volatility 3 of 5 and the 15,000x max win
The game's rules give a 96.21% RTP with Lost Treasures always chosen, meaning C$96.21 returned per C$100 wagered over a very long run and a house edge of C$3.79. Hacksaw does not publish other RTP versions for this game, but casinos may run lower builds, so check the rules at your casino. Hacksaw rates the volatility 3 out of 5, the middle of its scale: rougher than a low-volatility slot, calmer than Chaos Crew at 5 of 5.
The maximum win is 15,000x the bet:
| Bet | Max win (15,000x) |
|---|---|
| C$0.10 | C$1,500 |
| C$0.50 | C$7,500 |
| C$1.00 | C$15,000 |
| C$2.00 | C$30,000 |
See our RTP and volatility guide for how these numbers translate into a session.
Le Pharaoh vs Le Bandit and other Hacksaw slots
| Game | Grid | RTP | Volatility | Max win |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Le Pharaoh | 6x5, 19 paylines | 96.21% | 3 / 5 | 15,000x |
| Le Bandit | 6x5, cluster pays | 96.34% | 3 / 5 | 10,000x |
| Wanted Dead or a Wild | 5x5, 15 paylines | 96.38% | 4 / 5 | 12,500x |
| Chaos Crew | 5x5, 15 paylines | 96.30% | 5 / 5 | 10,000x |
Le Bandit is the closest sibling: same Golden Squares, same Rainbow, same volatility rating, but cluster pays and super cascades instead of paylines and sticky re-drops. Le Pharaoh adds the bonus choice and a higher 15,000x cap; its Rainbow FeatureSpins cost 60x against Le Bandit's 50x. The Le series also includes Le King, Le Viking, Le Zeus, Le Fisherman and Le Cowboy. For more Egyptian themes, Book of Dead and Legacy of Dead offer a much simpler 5x3 style.
Where to play Le Pharaoh in Canada and how to pace it
In Ontario, look for the game at casinos on iGaming Ontario's list of regulated sites; each site picks its own lobby. In Alberta, use an operator registered with AGLC, a requirement since 13 July 2026. In the other provinces, the regulated route is your provincial gaming site; offshore casinos accept Canadians without Canadian regulation. The age floor is 19+, dropping to 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec. The province-by-province rules are in our guide to playing in Canada.
- Pick a stake that covers at least 200 spins of your session budget.
- Remember that FeatureSpins multiply the cost of every spin.
- Stop at a preset loss limit; a bigger stake does not make the Rainbow more likely.
Le Pharaoh slot on mobile
The 6x5 grid and its coin values are small on a phone, but the game runs in a mobile browser or casino app with the same rules. Open the demo on your own phone first to check that you can read the Golden Squares and coin values comfortably.
Le Pharaoh suits players who like layered features and a bit of decision-making. Treat it as paid entertainment with a house edge, and walk away when it stops being fun.

What works and what does not
Pros
- 15,000x maximum win, higher than Le Bandit's 10,000x
- Choice of bonus with almost identical RTP, so you pick by style
- Golden Squares and the Rainbow make even base-game spins tense
- Hidden Epic bonus with a Rainbow on every free spin
- Demo shows a dollar balance and includes the buys
Cons
- Many features to learn before the game makes sense
- Base-game line pays are small; the value is in Rainbows
- Rainbow FeatureSpins cost 60x the bet per spin
- No release date published by Hacksaw
How the feature works
Wins stick and trigger re-drops, and every winning position becomes a Golden Square. A Rainbow activates them into Bronze (0.2x-4x), Silver (5x-20x) or Gold (25x-500x) coins, clovers (x2-x20) and Pots of Gold that collect. Three FS scatters offer Luck of the Pharaoh (10 free spins) or Lost Treasures (3 refilling lives); four give the Super versions; five unlock Rainbow Over the Pyramids, 12 free spins with a Rainbow on every spin.
